Lobsang Gyatso is a Tibetan refugee. His homeland is in Eastern Tibet. In 1985, he became a monk and joined a monastery near his home. Like thoughsands of Tibetans who flee Tibet every year, Lobsang made the daring escape to India through the Himalayan Mountains in 1991 with the desire to meet His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and study Buddhism freely. In April 2002, Lobsang's life journey brought him to the United States. Here he is pursuing his artwork in hopes of depicting the cultural and tranditional Tibetan style.
