Our History

Lobsang Gyatso is a Tibetan refugee. In 1985, he became a monk and like thousands of Tibetans who flee Tibet every year, Lobsang made the daring escape to India through the Himalayan Mountains in 1991 with the desire to meet His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and study Buddhism freely.

In April 2002, Lobsang’s life journey brought him to the United States. Here he is pursuing his artwork in hopes of depicting the cultural and traditional Tibetan Style. Lobsang donates a percentage of the profits every year to a monastery in South India, and individual refugees in need of assistance. In this way, Lobsang gives back to those who have helped spiritually guide him in his life journey.
